I like music, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.

 Your Song (by Elton John)

Luckily for me, I have a Number One Internet Fanboy who comes to my rescue when I can’t figure out a terrific question for this meme. (I could have sworn I had about 800 ideas for questions when I decided to do a meme!)

Name three (or more!) people and the custom ringtones you’ve either set for them on your phone, or would if you could.

I’m going to be an over-achiever in my answer:
Geoffrey – In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel
Lyse – Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett
Karel – Don’t Don’t Tell Me No by Sophie B. Hawkins
Brenda – Haven’t We Been Here Before by Styx
Elder demonspawn – Annie’s Song by John Denver (obviously!)
Younger demonspawn – Anxiety by Pat Benatar (of course!)
Molly – The Mummers’ Dance by Loreena McKennitt or Black Leather Band by Bedlam Bards
Mari – anything by Heather Alexander
Any ex – Since You’ve Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson

 She’s how old?

My beloved has a lovely, tall, redheaded, Gemini girlfriend…who is three days shy of being exactly a decade younger than me. (Not like Geoffrey has a type or anything. *snicker*) But when I saw this Top5 list, I knew I had to dedicate it to Geoffrey & Tamara. *big grin*

The Top 9 Signs Your S.O. Is Seeing Someone Younger

9> Whenever you come home early from work, you spot that same skateboard in your driveway.

8> He’s suddenly well versed on local age-of-consent laws.

7> Her last cell phone bill included over 5000 text messages.

6> As she dozes off to sleep, she mumbles something about making sure you do your geometry homework before school tomorrow.

5> He comes home with Bubblicious stains on his collar.

4> Someone changed the vibrating bed setting from “therapeutic” to “bucking bronco.”

3> She’s got the plastic surgeon booked every Monday for the next two years.

2> She’s replaced her Depends adult diapers with the less matronly and more flattering Huggies brand.

…and the Number 1 Sign Your S.O. Is Seeing Someone Younger…

1> All of a sudden, she can kick your ass on the Xbox.

 Need another weekend to recover

I need another weekend to recover from my weekend. Friday after work was moderately tiring, all on its own – I had to pick up a refill of my migraine preventative, which meant going to Freddy’s. Of course the pharmacy was busy, so I zipped out to Great Clips while I waited on my refill. I got a really spiffy razor cut, by a gal whose own hair would normally have prompted me to request another stylist. But I had a feeling, and I’ve never regretted following my intuition before! Then I got my prescription, walked over to Toxic Hell for a dinner takeout, and hiked three-quarters of a mile down to Bell Rd, the nearest bus stop for the 71 line (which drops off 2 blocks from my house). I got home 14 hours after I’d left the house for work that morning.

Saturday, Geoffrey & I and the youngest demonspawn enticed Lyse over to visit, and we all went out to brunch at the Shari’s where Lyse dines so frequently that when she walks in the door, they all holler, “Hey Norm!” Then we went back to Freddy’s with the intent of purchasing a new coffee maker, since I had to give Molly back the one that she left at my house when she lived here. We left Freddy’s with a coffee maker, a few dozen pairs of socks (on sale!), and a 27” TV. I’d been drooling over the possibility of a new TV for a few months now, especially as my old TV was eleven years old, had a constant buzzing that was both audible and subsonic (headache-inducing), and had such a dark picture that even with the bright cranked all the way up, dark scenes in TV shows or movies were virtually unwatchable. And since my annual bonus from work was paid out on Friday (and it was about $100 more than the price of the TV!), I decided it was time to replace the old 20” piece-o’-crap set.

So of course we watched a comedy concert on DVD that Lyse had picked up, and the couple of horror flicks we had on hand – one of which was The Grudge, not nearly as impressive (cinematically or story-wise) as The Ring. It wasn’t so much of a horror flick as a psychological thriller with supernatural overtones, with lots of scenes that made you jump but not actually all that scary.

Today, I cleaned my entire kitchen, put away the huge delivery from Safeway.com, ran many loads of laundry, and went out to lunch (at Shari’s again) with Geoffrey, Lyse, & Karel. Then we went back to my place, watched a few episodes of SG-1 (since Lyse bought the third season – yay!), and I made dinner just a wee bit too late for Karel & Lyse to share. Also did a ton of crocheting, since I have about 3 different projects going at once and I really want to get at least one done ASAP.

Somehow I think work may seem downright restful…

 Zzzzzzz

It’s only the middle of the week, and I’m more than ready for the weekend. Between one thing and another, there’s been little sleep in my life lately. But at least it gave me an idea for this week’s question…

What is your favorite style of music (and/or your favorite song) to listen to while relaxing or drifting off to sleep?

I’ve always been a big fan of David & Steve Gordon’s Sacred Earth Drums and Sacred Spirit Drums. The first cassette tape I owned of their music, almost a decade ago, eventually wore out from overuse!
