What a pink day!
This afternoon, my girls and I drove out to Beavercreek for Krystal’s baby shower. Krystal is the daughter of Brenda — my best friend from high school, my roommate at a couple different points in time, and the “auntie” of my daughters. When Krystal & my eldest daughter were very small, Krystal called me “Auntie Mommy” and Angst (Andrea) called Brenda “Auntie Mommy.” Since Krystal let everyone know she’s having a girl, there was a lot of pink at the shower! She’s naming the baby Athena, which is a name I really like but I hope the baby can live up to it.
Lots of pictures were taken…
Here’s Brenda and me, friends for 23 years…
Here’s Krystal — I can hardly believe that the tiny baby I held 20 years ago, and helped potty train, and saw her off to her first day of school, is going to be a mother within a month…
Here’s a pic of my girls feeling the baby kick & move around — neither of them recall feeling an unborn baby moving inside its mom, so check out the looks on their faces! It’s priceless!
Lots more pics, including the pressies I crocheted for Krystal & Athena, are in a new gallery.

Very nice, but I don’t understand why people give girl babies pink, these days. We certainly didn’t do that for our girl baby, 18 years ago.
But, anyway, congrats on the happy event and whatever it makes you. “Great-aunt mommy”?
