Cotton-mouthed kitties
I’ve been harvesting the catnip from my garden every now & then (until last week, I hadn’t known that catnip has pretty little purple flowers!), and getting my cats stoned a lot. They are hilarious to watch after they’ve had some catnip buds. *snicker*
Michiko doesn’t react to it; I think kittens aren’t affected by catnip. But Hasani acts like he’s a drunken Irishman when he’s high on the stuff (cheerful & lazy), and Zadya really goes to town. She frantically rubs herself all over her scratching post, like it’s her very bestest friend — as if she was high on some kind of combination of coke & Ecstasy.
Cats are some of the best entertainment ever. Especially when they’re tanked.
LOL! My cats devoured the catnip in my garden. Am now waiting for my third dog to arrive from Southern California. Her name’s Typhany, she’s a Kerry blue terrier. Get this, she has her own pet travel agency, shall be delivered to my front door maybe in a limo. Come heck or low water am still going to Seattle to be with Jerry for his high school reunion, He said “I love you!” on the phone today, all I could do was whisper, “bye”. Bless this weather, it feels good to be able to sleep again, oui?

yep – cats usually have to become sexually mature before they’re affected by catnip (or that’s what i’ve heard anyway). my two older boys love it, and the younger one (2 yrs.) is so-so about it. he’s usually more interested in the reaction that the two older boys have in it than the catnip itself. he’s a siamese, which means that he’s a very “young” 2 yrs. old…
