 Take this job and…

Pretty much everyone’s heard the country classic Take This Job and Shove It by Johnny Paycheck (how amusing is that!). Now there’s a song with attitude…

What song with attitude do you particularly like, and who might you dedicate it to?

Most of my ex-boyfriends deserve one of these two songs, so I should definitely keep them in mind for my next ex-boyfriend (*evil grin*): That Ain’t Love by REO Speedwagon, and Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson.

I dunno, is there a song called “Get Out Of My Way You Fucking Moron! Who The Hell Taught You To Drive, Stevie Wonder?” Cuz I could dedicate that to a number of people every morning on my drive into work :)

It depends on the attitude, I guess. Are we talking about “songs that say the kinds of things you wish you could say to someone’s face but normally wouldn’t,” or “songs that have a snotty, in-your-face appeal”? For the latter category, there are several Econoline Crush songs that come to mind. For the former, there are all sorts of things… VAST’s “Free,” Midnight Oil’s “Short Memory” (or “Say Your Prayers” or most of the ‘Redneck Wonderland’ album…), Pet Shop Boys’ “How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?”, Toy Matinee’s “Queen of Misery”… oh, I could go on, I suppose, but I’ll let someone else have a turn now. *grin*

For all-around utility I would say “We’re not gonna take it” by Twisted Sister. For the Ex-That-Will-Not-Die, it would be Ugly Kid Joe’s “Everything About You.” Kreator’s “People of the Lie” is also a good one.
