 It’s a boy!

I was so right. Claire had her first ultrasound today, and found out they’re having a boy! This makes around 15 pregnancies in the last 20 years when I’ve been right about the baby’s gender before the ultrasound or birth — and I haven’t been wrong once. (Apparently, when Robert and Geoffrey were talking about this, one of them said to the other, “Yeah, she’s never gonna let us forget it, either!” I related that tidbit to Karel, and he said, “Your boyfriends, past & present, rolling their eyes at you being right again? No, never!” And yes, he was smirking.)

Robert had said he wanted another girl, but Claire laughed at how much he was strutting around after he found out he’s fathered a boy. They weren’t given an exact due date (I guess they give you a “range” instead, these days), but he should be born — barring problems, heaven forbid! — in late June or early July. I’m thinking of starting a pool, so leave a comment with your guess on the birthday and I’ll come up with a prize for the closest date. (I’m guessing my birthday, just so the kid won’t be born on that day! I’m not good at guessing dates, just genders.)

I think Claire’s just relieved it isn’t twins! (Robert & Claire are still wrangling over possible names…but they have a few months before they need to worry about it!)
