The problem with all the sf/fantasy book memes I’ve seen is the lack of female authors — there are only 5 women on this list, a lousy 10%, and I guarantee women write (and write very well indeed) a lot more than 10% of the sf/fantasy out there! What, have people never heard of Jennifer Roberson, Tanya Huff, Mercedes Lackey, Esther Friesner?

Also, there’s a terrible lack of authors who’ve published new stuff within the last decade. How about David Weber, John Ringo, Eric Flint, and the incomparable Spider Robinson? I need to make my own book meme…
